Re: Scale (ish) vehicles
[/attachment] IMG_0981.JPG Wilf has been beavering away on the Defender that he picked up at the local auction and brought it home today. It still needs a little tidying in places and some lessons have been learned - the whole rear topside would be removed next time and the bonnet would have a furth...

I guess that you've already seen this:

but if not then it is probably worth reading and a follow up to 16mm nga.

Scale (ish) vehicles
The subject of scale vehicles for 16mm (or lack of) has found its way into a number of threads recently. I've been playing around with the Universal Hobbies 1:18 Land Rover Defenders as they looked a close approximation to what was needed. I've measured the 110 Defender and compared to my own 12&quo...

Re: The Runnymede Light Railway
I've spent the last six months looking for a Criccieth and finally gave up and took a Harlech instead. I'd decided on FR Grey but without the yellow vinyl. The one available at Derails already had the stripes fitted. However, they had a black that wasn't on the web site. I'd not actually seen it in ...

Re: The Runnymede Light Railway
The procurement section visited the Great Exhibition at Llanfair at the weekend and although they pulled out their cheque books, the long lead times quoted for heavy diesel traction units didn't; meet their expectations and so they went to the open market on Monday and sourced something with immedia...

Re: The Pine Hill Railway (PHRy) - a Norwegian Garden Railway
It will stay as it is for a while as I have some rolling stock to get on with! It's actually a pretty good model - I've seen a lot worse. It will probably end up black and a Utility back. A Puma bonnet would be nice - but it is quite a lot of work as the TD5 depression is difficult to work with. Sti...

Re: The Pine Hill Railway (PHRy) - a Norwegian Garden Railway
I don't want to hijack the thread - but can't find anywhere else to post this: My Universal Hobbies TD5:110 arrived today and I've taken some measurements and compared against the real thing. Firstly the LR official length of 4660mm is wrong - unless the "Puma" 110 is shorter than the TD5 ...

Re: The Pine Hill Railway (PHRy) - a Norwegian Garden Railway
I wanted a Series1 Landy some while ago and couldn't find one., I've just looked at Minichamps and they don't seem to do it any longer, but I did find them on Amazon, for.... (gulp) £130 + £15 postage! Not something I'd want to weather or leave outside at that price. Not a Series 1 but the Universa...

Re: Coal staithes, bins, cells .....
There are some good examples of working coal operations in the three pages associated with this link: http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/w/whitworth/index1.shtml On it own this would be just another page on the web. However, I used to live directly opposite this and my best mate's dad owned Taylor's...

Very nice Tony
I did like the 'Lone Star' layout - I have one in the loft that arrived one Christmas back in the early '60s. No boxes like that one - but I do have a 0-8-0 Baldwin!!

...and actually a very close approximation at 16mm/ft. So, although he looks small, actually isn't. I notice that the exhaust stack on the real thing is much further forwards - but that's not an issue with mine as the thing fell off when I took it out of the box and it requires a pin putting in it t...

Re: GRS 32mm gauge diesel and tippers
having had a good look inside now I can see that things can be done. However, I've decided that the loco is probably best left as it is and use it for doing slow circuits with its own set of tipplers. The money that I would spend is best put towards an Accucraft Baguley or a Criccieth Castle (my pre...

Re: The Runnymede Light Railway
There has been some development this week following the arrival of a couple of points. The station area now has its platform 3 (or siding) and the take off point for the engine shed has been established. I'm still waiting for one more point - which will come off the engine shed branch and lead to a ...

Thanks! - that was exactly what I was looking for. Zecar has been ordered although build up is low down the priority list!
Re:
Hi I was trying to reach this thread - but I'm actually more interested in how you went about getting the Zee Car into a wagon. The whole concept of an inertia wagon is new to me. I'm aware of the SloMo product much much more interested in building a wagon based one. I'm happy to kick this off as a ...
Re: G&DR
I don't seem to be able to get the link to open and a search hasn't turned it up (or I'm not looking for the right thing). I have watched the youtube link, found ZeCar on Amazon and keen to have a go - but not sure where to start. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: GRS 32mm gauge diesel and tippers
Hi all - thanks for the responses. I am aware of the upgraded motor / gearbox kit on eBay. It also comes with upgraded lights (tbh I'm not that worried about the lights). I'll speak with RCTrains about options for controlling the 12V motor and sound. I understand that it isn't a 'main line' engine, ...

Re: GRS 32mm gauge diesel and tippers
Has anyone had a go at modifying one of these yet? - Converting to RC, fitting a sound module or rechargeable battery for example. I'm going to do something with mine as it is just too slow (I like 'slow' but mine is very slow) - and for me shunting requires a radio. I'd be grateful of any experienc...
