Don't envy you having to chip through 6" of concrete Andrew. It will be worth it I'm sure. Eat plenty of cake!

Oh! what a superb video Rik, boy the head shunter really knows his stuff, un-coupling everything so quickly ;) ;) . The placement of the copper mine buildings was like a scenery change on a theatre stage, greenery one minute, busy industrial scene the next. I see the timber sidings in the whole pict...

The station with the bay road and general layout looks very prototypical Jim, I particularly like the dark screeding for the loco shed area. That will look good with some general junk laying around. Also good to have your wife's support, makes it that much more enjoyable. Your pace in getting this d...

Hi Invicta, The mill is constructed using Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (AAC) blocks also called Hebel I believe. I bought 600x200x100mm blocks and sawed them down the middle to make 50mm thick walls. Painted in suitable bluestone colours, then scratch and saw in the mortar joints. ./myff/1981464/Rail...

While researching info for my tractor, I certainly kept many pics. on file of Fordsons in the same or worse condition. I keep having to pull myself up and remember I'm modeling the 1920's, so back then the tractor would still be quite new, much as I'd like to do a really decrepit weathering job on i...

Totally agree re leaving an object outside, that has involved as much time as I suspect would have gone into Doan's work. My vehicles don't stay outside, rather placed in daily situations. Shall wait in anticipation to see the Fordson. That gun is an interesting acquisition, would it be made by &quo...

Hi Tom and thank you, The loco is a home build, but using a Roundhouse Katy boiler and cylinders, axles and some motion, with my own frames, rods, body, wheels, trucks etc. I bought a Katy frame and boiler kit, used the frames wheels and axles to make my petrol/mechanical loco, and the boiler cylind...

The tractor interested me because yours has not got the enormous mudguards (to counter the tractors propensity for rearing up ) and so appears smaller overall. Mine are removable, but all the ones I've seen pics. of in Australia had them. Yours also has the correct wheel cleats but unfortunately the...

Thank you one and all for your kind comments, they are much appreciated. Makes lying around on the ground with blocks of wood or bricks for the camera to take photos all seem worth it. If I can inspire others that might make up for the inspiration and ideas I have gleaned from the forum in the past ...

The afternoon Pass. has been made up, and the Hunslet is about to top up with water before coupling up and heading off to Nayook ./myff/1979231/Railway+Scenes+051.jpg Later the same day, the pass. has returned, locos on shed, and all is quiet in the afternoon sunshine at Leawarra. ./myff/1979232/Rit...
