Re: North East Victoria Railway
Thanks guys. The car being modelled is the one on the left which as you can see when photographed in the typical Victorian overcast weather is quite a dark red/brown. The creams vary from car to car depending on fading but I'm not as concerned by that. 275211964_680816950017148_4954130014430126287_n...

Re: North East Victoria Railway
Just a quick update before GSSU. The printers have been in production mode ahead of a steamup coming up ever quicker after GSSU but I'll cover that closer to the date. In the mean time work on the pilot BBL is coming along nicely. I'm not entirely happy with the colours as they look suspiciously lik...

Re: TVT - Dylanesque
Two secrets, early retirement and a good size super account............. ;) I can usually put in three hours a day in the workshop without interruptions. Copy that, at 25 I should be able to put enough money away for when I have time to build that 1:24 scale WAGR S class I've always wanted  Br...

Re: North East Victoria Railway
I've always enjoyed it when it was 12" to the foot or 7 1/4 its just always been out of my price range. a lack of suitable locos in 1:24 definitely narrowed down the options quite a lot too. I didnt realise it was open to anything other then live steam! Thats very interesting, the T class/DE wi...

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway
Interesting that the drive shafts were different lengths I would have thought that would have failed Qc for sure but obviously not also Interesting that the cabs so small. Could it have been designed to 1:22 perhaps? Either way your model looks a treat! Always a shame when theres so much rework invo...

Re: North East Victoria Railway
More then happy to put some bits back on for some show and tell but I'll definitely only be spectating this year especially given my inexperience with small scale live steam. It'll be my first GSSU so im very excited

Looks fantastic. It always blows me away how fast you seem to finish projects. Cant wait to see how it looks once you paint and line it.

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway
Spectacular grant. Its amazing what a difference some weather and detail changes make to the stock article. I was planning on doing something similar with mine but i dont want to go too far with it. Have you had to modify much like Graeme did for it to be a successful runner? One of the guys up in t...

Re: North East Victoria Railway
I certainly hope so too! That said though the blowthrough issue it has is the only reason I'd ever have the remotest chance of owning a live steam loco let alone an Aster one. So I'm happy to take it on given the opportunity. I was hoping it'd be fixable by GSSU but given how little time I've spent ...

Re: North East Victoria Railway
Thanks guys really appreciate it. Even with the La Nina the port area sits under the eaves of our house so there is still some operational potential if I break out the coat :D I roughed out the new alignment using 3 of the points tonight but I'll hold off posting any pics or plans until I've got it ...

Re: North East Victoria Railway
Over twelve months have passed and unfortunately trains have run less then half a dozen times on the NEVR. I've come to the conclusion that unless I rip out over half of my line and start again the situation is only going to get worse. With Daylight savings back again hopefully progress will pick up...

It would be uber finnicky and im not entirely sure that even my best 3d printed effort would do them justice. Will have to order a packet and see how they turn out thanks!

Absolutely stunning Aaron best looking roundhouse fowler I've seen yet. Shame they weren't super popular really i think that with a bit of extra detail they come up a treat.

Re: Latest developments
The latest way ive managed to get around the stirations (ridges) is to give it a good sand with 120 and 240 grit then lie it on its side and give it half a dozen coats of the tamiya painter filler in the cans and sand flat. you can get quite an achievable finish. at the end of the day 3d printing is...

I must say I am less then impressed with this bridge. hard to believe any traffic is permitted at all over it given it has no beams or structure! DSC04767.JPG Likewise I recommend this home signal is removed asap to prevent injury or loss of track access due to the post collapsing DSC04768.JPG waiti...
