Re: Making "steam" from an atomizer for making mist
The atomizer generates tiny aerosols, which will dissipate quickly in the air; thus, there are no droplets on the loco or wagons.

Re: Making "steam" from an atomizer for making mist
I gave up running live steam locomotives for a while, but I still missed the steam, thus, I decided to make "steam" for the LGB Stainz. It turned out that this small atomizer from a mini-humidifier (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CGN4QC3K?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) seems t...

Re: Making "steam" from an atomizer for making mist
I had wondered if there was a way of adding a plume of steam to a battery loco, when you have added a sound card its the one missing element. A very interesting idea. I will store it away for future consideration. Trevor The Stainz locomotive was controlled by the wifi-based Locomote board and the ...

Re: Making "steam" from an atomizer for making mist
Great, thanks a lot. How long does one water fill last? I have not had a chance to test. But the wick is 5 cm long, and the chimney can carry quite a lot of water (I need to calibrate how much). I will play around this Thanksgiving weekend and will let you know; can't wait to see how real that woul...

Re: Improving railroad track during Labor Day
Looks great! It was a good weekend for working on the railway here as well. I'm very interested in how the mortar mix works out over time as I've been considering a similar method of track placement. In the past, I was indecisive, I covered the track with a light layer of mortar mix. After the Wint...

Improving railroad track during Labor Day
I spent the long weekend immobilizing the track on the ground with mortar mix. It turned out very successful.

Old State House
I just established a new Old State House in the garden this weekend. This is a 3-month project with a lot of ups and downs; after all, I am glad that it works out fine. The building has over 80 windows. All are made of resin.

Re: epoxy polymer resin
In the past, I bought polymer resin to make the buildings, it was great. But I didn't have a record of what kind of polymer. Recently, I bought epoxy resin and I was disappointed because when the structure is placed outdoors under the heat of ~ 80F, it became softer. The structure collapsed because...

New layout
After 10 years, it took some courage to redesign the railway layout. I have been planning for many years, but no time to make it realization. In the past, the elevated system was separated from the ground level, two trains could run separately. But I rarely have two trains running at the same time. ...
