They were already corrugated. From memory they were from tinned pineapple.

It is getting a bit old now and is looking very rusty, but I still like it.

I made an exhaust regulator for one of my mamods (just restricts the steam through the exhaust), and now it makes quite a nice chuff.

I tried a very crude mock up with a meccano motor on a mamod flat bed. It worked but didn't go very far at all before stopping.

I tried a mock up with a meccano clockwork motor and a mamod flat bed truck, but it didn't run for very far at all.

I agree that MSS lack quality control, however by fitting the upgrade kit you are effectively scrapping the MSS running gear and just keeping the body work. It might be worth having a look around for a secondhand roundhouse or accucraft, but that isn't necessarily a cheap option either - unless you ...
