Sounds like the regulator is leaking steam which means that the o ring in the regulator is perished. Replacing the o-ring should fix the issue..

I saw that loco on the mamod group on Facebook and by looking at the loco it would seem that the boiler, burner and gas tank are the same as the ones used in another 16mm live steam loco, wild rose. Looking at your locos cab it seems that it isn't possible to add a sight glass but you could fit a pr...

A blow down valve would be a useful addition but it would be a bit of a pain fitting it to what ever boiler is fitted to the loco. My mamod is fitted with a copper boiler and the only real place a valve could be fitted is on top of the water gauge which wouldn't really help drain water from the boil...

The rwm boilers are fine on meths but just as a word of cation I have one of these boilers and the o-rings supplied with it( or they were at least with my boiler) are pretty useless. You should replace them with some fibre ones. Also the paint that they are painted in is rather weak, I had to get mi...

I will admit to posting on Facebook alot more than i do here, probably because it is so much easier to post photos and videos on there. Also I do 99% of my browsing on my iPad and unfortunately it is impossible to post photos on here through my ipad.

Thanks mike for the prompt response seems like this loco is a step forward for mamod.

Did the loco empty it's lubricator when it first started to run like the mk11 or did it behave it's self?

I'm sorry for sounding like a critic but would you say that the build quality on this loco is better than the mk2?

What's your thoughts on this idea...

Hi all What are you thoughts on this. Say you took a standard boiler and a inline lubricator. The normal set up is the steam leaves the boiler through the regulator and travels through the lubricator and to the cylinders. Now say you put the lubricator in a tender and there is flexible piping betwee...

It looks like the Thomas Telford loco is now set for release at Peterborough... http://nationalgardenrailwayshow.org.uk ... efault.htm

I'm actually quite taking by it, the smoke box door makes it look so much better then the mark 2.
