Derail on Mamod Points

I had a similar problem, derailing on Mamod points. I found though that it was the meths burner that was too low and catching on a rail. I found a bit of old copper strip and bent it, pulling the burner up to its proper height so that it clears the point.  The strip was screwed on using the fixing s...

I've certainly considered it. A mixture of superglue, vinegar and brown paper!

Broken Mamod Track Needed - Situation Solved - Thanks

My terminus has produced a short section of track which doesn't join up. You'll get the idea from the pictures. (It reminds me of happy days with Hornby 3 Rail). Does anyone have about an inch of straight track end (including the fastening) from a broken piece of Mamod Set Track that they don't need...

Hi, Chris The regulator is indeed Dreamsteam, but I put the locking nut on first, then the horn over the nut and the control nut (for want of a better word) locks that in place, so it's basically friction driven. The linkage is spring steel, giving some pressure when in the 'off' position and I've s...

Cab, Radio Control, Tender and Bloke

./myff/1655894/Margaret+Amelia+Cab.gif Success with the picture. The plan is to further the R/C by adding another servo to operate the reverser, but I'm trying to work out a mechanism whereby you don't have to keep the R/C engaged all the time. We now have a Maplins in Huddersfield, so something mi...

Hi Jim, Welcome to the Mamod sub-Forum (been very quiet here recently) & the main Forums. You will need to ask Peter Jones ( Superbiker_uk ) whether he will be releasing more of these tender aprons. He has posted above in this Discussion, just click the PM symbol at the bottom of his posting to...

Tender Aprons and Magnetic Boots

Hi - first post. I'm running an MSS side-tank which I have modified to include Radio Control. I would love to know how to get hold of a tender apron, as I can't get my 'driver' on the left side of the cab owing to the servo (which operates the steam regulator) being in the way. I also found that som...
