Lovely video as always, the loco facing shot idea may get stolen!

My two year old son and I both really like your you tube channel it works every time as an emergency distraction - the only problem is I get distracted too!

Keep them coming please!

Nice video Zach! I really enjoyed that. Just a shame I'm stuck indoors today and not outside running trains!

Loco Numbers 11+

Hi, The NDLR has a problem. We are rapidly approaching saturation point having used all of our Roundhouse sourced Numbers (1-10). If asked, my wife would probably say this is easily fixed by selling something, however I am hoping for a less drastic solution. Does anybody know where we can get some n...

There is this chap on ebay who is always selling sound boards http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221409739512 Don't go there!!! I did and giving it away would be too expensive!!! Like Bryan I am currently using an ACME unit although mine is running off the main battery of my RC loco and I can turn if on and...

I'm bringing my son (20months old) so hoping that he'll be well behaved. As for buying stuff, Will probably come away with: a whistle, some decorative bits and bobs & possibly a Manual speed controller for a project for said son. Could come away with but will probably shorten marriage: 0-6-0 cha...

Re: Gas quality

I have been having lots of problems with lighting up and initial steaming, ie, hard to light, won't stay lit, has a pulsating effect and sometimes the flame is really weak at full gas then roars into life. To me this sounds like a typical Ragleth. Mine is the same when first lit. The pulsing can be...

The engine stops completly on all cars; an car engine running at less than 600 RPM would shake the car apart fairly quickly. My Alfa Romeo won't stop in the winter because the battery voltage is always too low. (Probably due to a 2 mile commute with the electric heater turned on). It does have a HUG...

So I may bring them back further (closer) to the rear driver, Great project! Always been tempted by doing this but have been put off by the work involved. I think you need to consider the balance of the bogie. The weight of the cylinders will try to tip the bogie up which could make them stiff to p...

Someone in my local area has a Caradoc with a roundhouse burner installed, however it is just a noisy (if not louder than mine is now), doesn't appear much easier to light and IMHO doesn't last as long!!

After having streaming issues with my Ragleth I reseated both the jet and holder with PTFE tape and have found it steams better and runs a lot longer with a cooler smokebox. I don't know how long it will last tho!

I use Humbrol enamels. Just paint it on. Let it dry overnight and then I rub the plate on a fine file to remove the excess.

Wow! Timing sounded spot on, and you can tell there are absolutely no tight spots. Couldn't hear the burner either!

All in all very realistic, he's had some practice driving it too!

A wooden body will be fine as the outside of the boiler cannot exceed water temp, which at 60PSI is 307deg.F or approx 152.7deg.C the problem area would be the smoke box which doesn't have water cooling. A prolonged smoke box fire could cause an issue but with care I don't see a problem. I think tha...
