I built an engine shed using 6 mil wpbp ply. Covered it with some very cheap white filler( almost plaster of Paris but out of a tube) I scored rough lines to look like stone and covered that with cheap grey paints from 99 p shop. I m going to try styrene pizza bases on small areas- crane plinth for one- stuck to wood. Wondered about expanded polystyrene but cant stand the mess.

Another stocking filler

LTC Rolt 's Railway Adventure is out again. Story of the Talyllyn. I could nt wait- bought my own! He writes in a way that puts you( me) in his footsteps as he walks the line but without the hard work. Great!

Snappy snaps in Pety Cury Cambridge will. I think its a franchise so not sure if all snappy snaps would. I ll look up some more as its not that difficult Jyst not cheap

I have Cambrian detailing bits everywhere. Very useful and if you ever succumb to a bag of rivet heads - great fun(?). I have a chassis which is ok but for me a bit soft for outdoor use. Pretania Foundry of Gosport used to make the railway parts for one of these. Had to supply your own Mamod I think. Saw a photo little while ago I ll try to find it( online photo) - dont hold your breath though!

There is nothing like this forum I ve ever come across. Between the 16 mm Association and this there isnt anything else I need really. Sometimes enthusiasm gets the better of newcomers but they soon get over it.I for one will only use 'our'Mamod section on principle. Unnecessary dilution causes weak...
