Re: Radio control and compatibility

Hi Doug Deltang txs will bond with 2.4gHz Spektrum DSM2 and DSMX rxs only They don't need to be Spektrum receivers, just ones that run DSM2 or DSMX protocol. Lots of cheap versions - I have used LemonRX for many years. I used Orange rx's with Deltang, but like Rik says, you can not use 12 at a time...

Re: PDF 50hp Baldwin petrol tractor.

Not sure how much room it has, but I would highly recommend Li-ion batteries as you get a lot of voltage and Mah for your space. I got 12v out of three tiny little batteries inside a tiny little bonnet. They tend to be 4.2v each, definitely worth a look. Just make sure you get an appropriate charger...

Re: A bit of time in the shed

Well after being quiet for a while there was a good reason. I had an order for a couple of loco's and I decided to build myself one as well. Note that all parts other than the motors, gears and numbers are made by me, including the buffers, wheels, well, everything else really :thumbleft: I should a...

Re: New arrival on the GWLR

I quite like the look of this too. Think I might do something similar on one of my chassis and see how it turns out, always like a good challenge, lol. Looking forward to seeing it when you have finished your detailing.

Re: A bit of time in the shed

Is that how you are sending the chassis out Steve, or have I been :withstupid:.....  The chassis will go out without buffer beams or foot plates, those ones will go out as full locos with radio gear and everything. There is a good picture of an 0-6-0 earlier in this thread that shows as ...

Re: A bit of time in the shed

Well yet some more time in the shed, these things are definitely breeding. A couple more people from our club are after a fully built loco and I thought it's about time that I built myself one. I will post some more pictures as time goes on  http://www.pictures.strickson.com:8080/_data/i/up...

Danny brass spectacles

I made a couple of brass spectacles for my Danny as it did not have any when I got it. I made them from an off cut of brass which could not make much else and ended up making eight of them. Well, I don't need eight I only need two, so if anyone wants to buy a pair for their Danny, then I can do them...

Re: A bit of time in the shed

That's great Steve, if you could put me on your waiting list for an 0-6-0. I've sent you a PM with my personal details. Sorry, I read my PM before this, lol. Is that an 0-6-0 with Jack shaft? They come in a fixed length if it's an 0-6-0 with the jack shaft, otherwise without I have some scope to ch...

Re: A bit of time in the shed

I must admit my recovery loco I built used 2 GRS based chassis (before I started making my own) and I added a heap of steel underneath it. From memory I think it came out over 12lbs! (5.6KG) 12lbs, I'd have to strenghten my track beds, the Comfrey and Geranium only has a Light Railway licen...
