I'm inclined to agree there Keith, the R clip would be easily removable if required. The box I have at the minute is more than big enough to accommodate the permanent coupling, my other concern would be getting the loco into the box, it's difficult enough with an N Gauge tender engine! Some other gr...

Live steam - Tender connections

Hi guys, After the crash involving my roundhouse George plunging down, it's now repaired but I am not keen on running it again until I sort this issue out. The problem being, if the coupling between the tender and loco comes uncoupled (due to derailment etc) the loco is only connected to the tender ...

To be honest, I would avoid the I.P drive gear, I had nothing but bother with the plastic gears on their chassis. From what I remember, Essel Engineering do a powered bogie that might do the trick, they use metal gears and are built a lot sturdier in my opinion!

If the hose is only quite short, surely you must be able to hear it rattle around to some extent if you shake the loco gently? As for getting it out, I think it's a case of peoples previous ideas, time, and patience! Next time, use a bit of hose thats long enough so if it falls off you wont lose it ...

Not on my line, but at my clubs track my Roundhouse George fell about 4ft off the track onto the gravel below. Paintwork a bit chipped, body possibly twisted, couple of minor dents. Not sure how the workings have faired, it's out for repairs as we speak!

I love the photo of the flowing water with the long exposure, I've been trying to get something like that for ages, but I don't think my camera is good enough to do it. These are my best so far: http://i602.photobucket.com/albums/tt102/ste234/PA293233.jpg http://i602.photobucket.com/albums/tt102/ste...

I think it looks great, think I will be getting myself one!
Will you be including instructions on how to finish it off with the motor and propeller etc?
Also, I take it there will be room for a receiver?
(anyone ever seen anything take off from railway tracks before? )

Cheers,
Steven

Had a bit of a catastrophe on Sunday at the running day. Somehow, the coaches behind Osprey managed to derail, thus digging the bogies into the track, the tender pin had come apart from the loco somehow, so as I opened the throttle ( not realising the derailment!), the loco split from the tender, gi...

Hi Krusty,
Just measured my coaches for you and I have..
from the bufferbeam to the axle is roughly 7cm. I don't think there was any reason for this, just that it seemed to look right!
Hope this helps

I highly recommend Essel chassis.... I had numerous problems with the I.P. Chassis stripping the gears. For a little more money the Essel one is ready to run aswell!

Nipping in a bit late on this here, but do you still live in Stockton Area?
Reason I ask is I do, and just use tap water, doesn't have limescale so it should be ok!
