Trouble with silicon is that you can never remove it from the surface - should you have or want to re-paint in the future, you'll have a problem. The residue stays forever.. Use blu-tack, no damage to the paint - can be removed and is secure enough in the long term - also if you want to move them sl...

Hi Tom/Keith I’ve checked my SL and yes there is a very slight movement of the motion when the regulator is closed and the gearing is reversed. Flick the direction selector forward and back 3 times and each time the movement is less, until there is none. Open up the regulator and then the same happe...

Tony

Thanks - what are the two colours shown?? I've amended the initial thread to ask members to state their R/House colour - as there is so much variation - it's sometimes hard to tell.

Thanks

What Colour - R/House MILLIE

I've decided to order a Millie in the New Year - thanks for all the reading - from various members - and on the varied comparisons, , on the 'basic locos'. It all made the difficult decision, pretty straight forward (for me) Now the difficult part - the colour. I've seen a couple 'in the flesh' and ...

Loco lamps - small led's

Hi, they can be replaced by a sub miniature 1.8mm led from micro miniatures - no resister required for 3v operation. Not identical buy they do fit. Check the polarity before spending 10 minutes making the legs fit! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270718784063?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m14...

The tail light I illuminated by drilling out the base of a standard white metal cast lamp and fitting an red led. It's powered from batteries inside the coach.

Kjell I'm contemplating doing the same to my Silver Lady. The only area I'm not 100% about is where the 2.5mm copper tube meets the lamp. Ideally it would bend away from the smokebox/chimney and into the rear of the lamp casing. One leg of the led is connected to the copper pipe and the other leg on...

Tom,, Thanks for the Halfords' lead. The signal red is to touch up the buffer beam hex bolt heads that replaced the screws and the maroon for a small chip, above the LHS cab door way, where it meets the black cab roof, there is 2 x small nuts on the undersdie of the roof that touch the cab side when...

Roundhouse Paints

Hi all, I am needing small touch up pots of two Roundhouse colours, Victorian Maroon BS541 and their Signal Red RAL3001 - used on their loco buffer beams. They sell neither to the public. I've tried searches on both Humbrol and Precision paints with no luck. Has anyone found an outlet for these pain...

Hartland Loco Works USA - Gondolas

Great open freight wagons - trouble is nowhere has them on this side of the pond - I&G Steam N. Wales used to sell them - but no longer. Here with HLW link

http://www.h-l-w.com/products/mini%20series.html

Has anyone imported them or found them for sale in the UK?
