So SBR could be used to fix ballast instead of PVA or cement? Can it be sprayed easily in a garden sprayer or similar or do you mix it with the grit/stones and apply?

Also known as Polymorph, we use it in school, you can buy it from Maplin also.

Sugru is another cool material, it is air curing rubber, you can pick that up from all sorts of places. Lots of uses including repairing stuff. Google it and take a look.

Your super heater is touching the poker burner and causing this. Once the super heater warms the burner will settle but while it is cold it will just keep popping out. Ordered a few bits over a month ago from chuffed2bits, parcel has been a no show. Tried emailing but no reply, paid with Paypal so going through their procedure now. Anybody else had problems with delivery from them?

You should use a sealer otherwise you will be spending a fortune on paint. There are many MDF sealers available from hardware stores some dry clear some dry white. Just watching it on Sky+ now lots of early footage of the Tal y Llyn and Ffestiniog. Well worth a watch on I Player if you have ...

I must say that this looks excellent.  However........what is the cost of the material relative to say buying an injection moulded kit?  I know its not all about cost but I did just wonder.
