Does anybody have a simple way of making a 'steam dome' and a 'chimney' this would be made from light gauge brass/mild steel sheet? I model in 16mm. They would be only cosmetic and non-functional. Thanks, any advice would be appreciated. Frank.

Hello Phil. Thanks for your helpful reply. I took another long look at the worm gear on the motor shaft and could see slight movement when the motor is switched between forward and reverse so I moved the worm gear further along the shaft from the motor and no more noise :D :D :D Perhaps some motors ...

Can anybody throw some light on why some of my 16mm scratch-built electric diesel's in one direction it's very noisy but when switched to the opposite direction it's quiet, I use MFA motors and the usual brass worm and drive gears? Thanks, Frank.

I am running a steam loco now and wondered if anybody knows how to keep the nameplate on I have used double-sided sticky tape but once the engine is hot it just slides off I'm unsure if super glue would fair better I didn't want to ruin the paintwork also I am not to keen on screwing the thin...
