This project has come on quite a bit since the last update. The first job was to create a chassis with running gear, so the work on the interior could begin. The sides have been strengthened and completed droplights fitted, along with the smaller side windows. Painting of the cream panels has been c...

It's not intended to be ride on, just as a large scale model. I think the width and sacrifice of detail to increase strength prohibit this. :)

A bug box seemed like a good idea. Drawings were scaled up from 7mm ones and the parts were kindly ...

During the past year I haven't done much in the way of 16mm, however my grandads rebuilt ogwen and a run at bressingham at the weekend provided the inspiration needed to have a go at weathering it, based on my previous attempts at the earl. the results are below... http://img845.imageshack.us/img845...

oh yes, i'm getting mixed up, but surely it would have been painted sometime between the 1890's (when they were supposedly painted a lighter red) and the col stephens era? so maybe this is in fact a varnished 'yellow' carriage instead. i've looked at some pictures and it apppears that either 19 or 2...

I've not heard that before but it could be possible. I believed that the two toned pickering was the 'yellow' and chocolate one with the other being green, then the 'yellow' one was repainted grey at some point as it looks a slightly darker shade, maybe it was just revarnished without the dark edgin...

yes sorry that is what I meant. When researching the colour for my pickering brake I found that one was green and the other grey at the end, but I asked the whhr for details about the colour throughout and looked at pictures and one of them certainly was a light colour with dark edging and the only ...

I found those details very interesting, especially as I hadn't seen some of those photos before. As for Old van no.2 I thought i read somewhere that it was varnished giving a 'yellow' appearence with chocolate paneling, just like one of the pickering brakes on the whr during the rainbow era. Of cour...

First run today with russell and the complete rake of 'rainbow' coaches, and that all important black and white image! although I would like to try and get a better one at some point. The second picture against the L&M loco really shows the squat appearence of the loco http://img59.imageshack.us...
