Re: DVLR No. 5, River Ore.
That’s looking lovely Zach! However he’s scaled it up to suit the wider gauge is done perfectly as it still retains its baby Garratt proportions well! Used to think mine was a great machine (maybe I shouldn’t have sold it.., )

Re: Identification help please
Although based on Dot I believe the Sweet Sixteen model is 16mm scale, and frames widened to suit 32mm gauge. It’s just a rather small loco overall for the scale that’s all!

Re: Identification help please
I believe manufactured by Sweet Sixteen, who did figures too. Sadly no longer around. They did a couple of versions, as I once owned one fitted with a saddle tank. Lovely little things, fitted with top quality motor/gearbox.

Re: Unknown locoo
I believe it to be an AnDel Models loco. They used to manufacture an O&K style loco with chain drive for 4wD, but when the chain became too expensive they swapped to a more freelance design of loco with the outside cranks and rods. Andy (who ran AnDel) went on to do various designs like the 0-6-...

I very much like the look off this! I think I know who it may be for, and if so, I’m very much looking forward to what he does with it!

Re: Any idea where and when this photo was taken?
I’m not sure on date but I’d say Pre-Preservation personally. It also looks like it was taken at Porthmadog station. There are multiple roads on a curve it would seem ala Porthmadog, the line coming off underneath the locos could lead to the goods shed/WHR link?

Re: eBay madness
It’s worth remember this is also the original Blanche/Linda model as opposed to the more common Charles that they re-released. I know this loco personally and it’s is in excellent condition, spending a lot of time in a display case. I also know of the tendered version of this loco (unlined) selling ...

Re: eBay madness
Looking at what the 'big' secondhand traders are selling VoR tanks for these days, I wouldn't say they were that far out with the price they are asking.

Postage is probably fine, I think I paid around £26 to post a Wrightscale Wren a few years ago insured up to £2000.

I'm in a similar circumstance and also had the same automated email reply. I understand the circumstances and too Matt gets better as soon as. I'm not sure if anyone else has heard anything about returning items to customers yet though?

Re: eBay madness
I believe the price of the Lillia on eBay is almost the price it was 'new' from Matt, it isn't much less that a friend of mine paid for his Pre-Lined Lilla at the a similar time this one was done. It does bring up the question though, what do you pay for a loco that has been pre-lined to be sold on,...

Re: Welcome to the CHLR
Shame to see the line go, I've enjoyed watch it develop. It had a great character! The Yorkshire group is great and very active! I sadly don't get to as many steam ups as I wished I did. I'm based in the Bradford area and if you ever want to have a run on our rather little line you'd be more than we...

Re: Baby Garratt mark II and other developments
Great stuff! I've also been a fan on the 'baby' Garratt's you've shared videos/photos of, very well in proportion. Any ideas of the cost of the locos that will be for sale?

I've seen a similar Garratt for sale on Craigslist as well as a Maxitrax Chaloner, both very cheap. It sounded dodgy from the outset so I sent both advertisers an email. They both replied, with extra images as asked for. I did find it very suspicious that both emails were almost identically worded a...
