Re: New jennie my frist steamer

You mention LGB cars. The Roundhouse basic locos like Bertie and Jennie have a centre buffer that passes through a slot in the buffer beam and is held to the underside of the loco by a screw. This is actually designed to be compatible with LGB. Just unscrew the buffer and screw in an LGB loop.

Tram and Railbus motors

Some time ago I built an IP Railbus about which I managed to place a short article in Garden Rail magazine. P1010275.JPG In the article I mentioned that my attempts to achieve the promised "silent running" by adjustng the nylon worm and gear hadn't been entirely successful. The bus was noi...

Re: So, what have you been up to with your railway?

As a bit of a diversion I've recently been working on an Occre Soller Tram car kit. I've got a bit of a weak spot for trams like this... Body and interior are complete and once the roof is done, I shall work on how best to motorise it. Probably going to be spring until, its finished as I will probab...

Re: IP Engineering Rail Bus

I asked IP engineering about the motor and he said the nominal voltage of the supplied motor is 4.8 volts. I run mine on 4 AA cells with a deltang receiver. No problems

In case anyone hasn't noticed, IP Jessie is back in production, with metal gears and improved coupling rods and the chassis is available separately as a "deluxe chassis"

Controlling more than one r/c loco

I have recently bought and installed deltang receivers in 2 locos with an RCT Tx 22 transmitter to control them. The controller in theory can control up to 12 locos independently. I have successfully bound the receivers to channels 2 and 3 and both locos operate correctly singly. However, sometimes ...

Has anyone tried one of these? They look interesting, though 45mm only is obviously a restriction for many

Re: IP Engineering Jessie rebuild

Hello-in February I put up a post you can see further down about fitting the new IP engineering 3D printed gearbox with brass gears to my old Jessie. It's a simple drop-in fit, correctly drilled for the retainng rod to go through, so if you have any problems with your gearbox, this is a simple solut...

Re: Rail Car for Dirranbandi and Toowoomba Light Railway.

Looks great. I'm starting on an IP Colonial railbus, which won't be anywhere near as original as yours, but should have a few tweaks compared to the out of the box version.

Re: IP JESSIE

Hi-I'm aware of your Jessie,it looks and sounds great. I think the motor block was a great idea, so if this doesn't live up to expectations, I may go that way too. Can I ask if you are behind RC Trains? I wanted to order some stuff but I can't open the website

IP JESSIE

Some years ago IP Engineering offered Jessie, an all metal 0-4-0- diesel and Jessica, an extended 0-6-0 version of the same loco. These were big beasts, about the size of a Roundhouse Bertie for comparison, and looked fine in a g-scale context. Sadly, these went out of production quite quickly, thou...

Rolling Roads

What's your experience of rolling roads? I recently bought a new Bertie and thought it would be a good idea to start it off by running it in a bit on a rolling road, as the users manual suggests that the loco may tend to be a bit difficult to run slowly for the first couple of times. I bought a roll...
