Re: Changing of a Roundhouse Silver Lady - Steamy Clare

Tom - back on this thread now, and back to the original topic: Silver Lady improvements. 1) I’ve fitted the SLOMO. What an excellent device. Now, I can hear the mechanism (and expect to, somewhat) but should I be able to grease it up with something, to keep that noise to a minimum? If so, with what?...

Re: Deltang RC Trains install help

Rik - thanks for this extract from the website. It does make sense now. It helps to think of each component of the programming in turn; compartmentalise it. I’ll let you know when it’s successful, subject to... Tom - also thanks for drawing me back to this issue. I’ll stop messing with smoke and ste...

Re: Deltang RC Trains install help

A week on, and I’ve fired up the loco three times. The twitching is still there, but it’s very slight (you hear it more than see it) and while the servos are being manipulated they don’t twitch; in fact, being moved seems to snap them out of their twitching, for a while. I’ll report further. On anot...

Re: Deltang RC Trains install help

Hi Rik, Thanks for the reply. I like the sense of the speed knob, it mirrors the control of the regulator itself (even in the direction - closed is full clockwise, unlike some seem to have it set up). I'll experiment with the twitching. I fired it up again yesterday and, though I wasn't looking for ...

Re: Deltang RC Trains install help

Thanks for this, Tom. I may go down the route of getting a separate transmitter for the live steam. The Selecta idea is great but I feel probably more suited to operating similar locos on battery power. I’ll get back in touch when it’s Slomo time - with photos of progress. Onwards and upwards! Alex

Re: Changing of a Roundhouse Silver Lady - Steamy Clare

Hi folks, Weirdly, I replied already, even saw it said “101 posts”, then came back later and there’s no sign of it... Got the Rx102 wired in, and the factory fitted aircraft style RC kit is no more. My observations: The control is beautifully smooth, just as I was told to expect. The servos have a h...

Deltang RC Trains install help

Hi folks, Progress! Somewhat. I’ve braved opening my new loco, and have swapped out the RH factory receiver out and plugged in the RC Trains Rx102. My observations: The servos twitch - microscopically but almost constantly. The regulator is half open when the Tx22 transmitter is in the “Speed” centr...

Re: Changing of a Roundhouse Silver Lady - Steamy Clare

Hello from the other side (of Christmas.) Thanks for that very comprehensive reply, and for welcoming me to the forum. My first boo-boo: I didn't mean servo, just the servo rod. I'll do as you suggest and get a couple from RH, so they're already threaded etc. If I'm changing it to incorporate 2 righ...

Re: Changing of a Roundhouse Silver Lady - Steamy Clare

Hi Tom, hi forum, Not often do you come across a thread which matches what you're after so well... Amazing job on your loco, by the way. My paint is all still sealed, in its packaging, until I get the proverbials to have a go! You've done two mods which I am trying to emulate exactly on my Silver La...
