Re: Pen-Y-Bont A new portable garden layout

Wow! That is somewhat brilliant - in concept, design and implementation.
Let's hope we can soon get back to those days when going to exhibitions and shows was the norm

Re: Using OpenSCAD to produce drawings for 3D Printing

A really interesting variation on the 3D drawing theme. Although I quite enjoy tinkering with programming, I think I'd eventually find this medium frustrating. I can see that it's a lot more precise and mathematical than TinkerCAD, but I somehow enjoy the rough and ready nature of drawing stuff free...

Sad news, Greg. The little blighters clearly have a taste for your timber. Let's hope they've not progressed upwards into the main structure of the house....

I don't follow how those linkage stoppers work. Do you have a pic (or video) of how they are fitted and work?
Exactly my question. I too can't figure out how they work. They look to be good value though.

Re: Llewellyn Loco Works #1

Great to see further progress, Dazza. I certainly admire your skill and ingenuity, though I have only half an inkling of the engineering principles of live steam locos.your attention to detail is really impressive.

....... It had an undercoat of red primer, which I then brush painted in the areas I wanted to look rusty with rusty brown acrylics. I then stuck some salt to these areas with some ‘borrowed’ hairspray and over coated with grey primer. Once dry a gentle scrub under running water and the grey flakes...

That seems like time well spent Rik. Looking forward to the finished installation.
As an aside, the castle has weathered in really nicely now.
Thanks
Yes, it's mellowing nicely. In a couple of years' time I may have to attack it again with the cement dyes

Re: Southwold coach

It's been a while since I revisited this project. If you recall, I designed and 3D printed a Southwold 6-wheel coach and took a while to tinker with the underframe until it worked reasonably reliably. However, there were a couple of places on my railway where the coach sometimes derailed. At Bulkele...

Re: A Wickham trolley

To cut a long story short, I lashed up my bag of bits following Rik's instructions, but it didn't work.... until I noticed that after all this time one of the batteries had leaked. A new power supply and it worked exactly as described - thanks Rik. Glad it's proved useful. I've not...
