Re: Regner Chaloner and Mamod Brunel

The Penrhyn quarry railway had de wintons, I beleive dinorwic also had a couple of vertically boilered locos, I could scarcely imagine them hauling anything but slate wagons The regner max, mamod brunel etc are of course too big, these are far more like it http://www.sidestreet.info/locos/loco12.htm...

I share that sentiment also! I wouldn't have got into 16mm if it were all electrickery, steam is steam and nothing can imitate it

Re: A small collection of mamod's

The original rear buffer-beam seems to have been bent upwards so the previous buffer slots could be used to hold the extended body on. Yes, my mamod had been modified in the same way, a big headache to sort out and make sense of, so I appreciate how much work you've had to put in! :thumbleft: :hell...

lets see your low profile locomotives!

Simple, just post piccies of your lowest 16mm scale loco and quote the height, the person with the lowest loco wins! :D

I have a suggestion for homemade points, not the most prototypical but bear with me, turntables on a curved section of track so that by rotating 180 degrees one changes direction, I got the idea from the lartigue monorailway where actual pionts are impossible, an archaic idea, but it might just work

I also model in 009, but I don't take it as seriously as say, 00 or p4 modellers do, in the latest 'railway modeller', for instance, there is reviewed a 00 a4 pacific for no less than £400!   I would never pay anything like that for my 009 locos I think they get a bit too hung up on getting e...

Have you tried the online archive of the national railway museum? The actual drawings are not available online but I think you might be able to get hold of a photocopy from them
