Something I've found to be useful with the water gauge I fitted to my Millie: if (sorry, when) the gauge glass gets blocked, the easiest way to clear it quickly is to take out the top plug (the one you inserted the gauge glass through) and squirt water down the gauge glass, using your filler bottle....

There's nothing quite as realistic as real rust. When the weather's better, I'll take a picture of the Lathkill Dale station building. It's over 18 years old (from memory) and the baked bean tin roof looks gorgeous!

None of them are particularly difficult: perhaps new modellers need to be gently led by the hand to show them that a "basic" kit can produce a very worthwhile result.

Got to go in the shed now - Andrew Charman (SMT Editor) wants a review of the other thing I'm building - a VoR bogie coach!
