Simplex body

Post by Sir Clothem Cap » Sun Jan 02, 2011 1:21 pm

I have a big big train Shunter that I want to rebody as a simplex similar to the one made by hancockshire. Has any one got any photos from different side to help me build?

You might want to consider the FR's "Mary Anne"..........

I was considering doing this to a Big Big chassis, but it never happened.

is your body scratchbuilt or a kit?

I fancy the version with the exposed sidways radiator rather than the bulletproof. I hadn't realised that most had an apex roof on the cab.

Both above models are scratch built

Well now you do  I scratch built mine from drawings that Dave posted to me. If I can remember where I put the drawings, I could post up some dimensions if you like

That would be handy. I will post a picture of the chassis. I think I may have to be inventive about the batterys

If you did decide to do Mary Ann then the thread of the one I made is under electric locomotives titled mary ann.

I really like your models Dave ... what are they made from? It looks like aluminium, but you are a braver man than I to use that non-paint-sticking non-solderable stuff!
