The NWAG chill out at the Afonglas and Nant Llywyd Railway

Well I finally held my traditional chritmas steamup today, and a reasonably large complement of the NWAG turned out into the slowly thawing conditions (well our snow disappeared over the course of the afternoon. The conditions wern't great for running trains but a good time was had by all, I think!

LMSjools brought the Merlin Hunslet, seen here rolling into Afallen

Recent forestry work at Afallen has made this view more usable for taking photos. Guillimot from the SLR (north) heads a down train out of Afallen

PTLRcecil bought along Lesley K again, however it has now had a makeover with Penrhyn style lining. Simon is slowly working his way through his fleet, I believe more Welsh-ness is planned.... It's passed by a visiting battery loco from Preston

A welcome return to NWAG steamups was made by Cumberland, Bungle's Lawley. Alas his run was in many respects thawted!!!

For most of last year, I said to PTLR sam that I wanted his Roundhouse Exe to visit the ANLR. In 2010, it has visited 3 times!!!
Hrumph!

We finished off with the usual double header, this time its Lesley Kay leading the weird "Mordrig" thing that has different names depending on who you ask at the PTLR.....
Many thanks to all those that braved the cold and the icy roads

Looks like great fun. I can't wait til I turn 17 & pass my driving test. Then I can by my beloved Mosh Mobile so I could come down for some Hancockifying

Thanks for a great la'al steam up ratty!! So glad I could make it and it was wonderful to get Cumberland back into steam after 9 months in her box, hibernating in deepest darkest Fife!!!
