Wednesday we took him to NNR... 56xx 5619 and visiting Black 5 George Stephenson were running services

the "Big Jinty" struggles over the 10mph speed striction just outside weybourne on the 1in80 incline (not helped by the station also being on a gradient and thr wet weather) turbin cables had been bored under NNR last year and now the track had started to subside at the spot where it had been bored, although the crews did see this as an oportunity to open the regulators wide once over the restriction area to make lots of noise... the speed restriction has now been lifted
Image
The loco thunders up the gradient as it picks up pace after passing the restriction area

Merlin is all fixed now, tho I have had to solder the banjo bolt back on. Pressure gauge is suffering from a blocked pipe. Modifications were carried out to imrpove burner efficeiency. Will take pictures tommorow as it runs here in Derby along with my dads Beck Anna. George will post photos of Merlin in bits at his next week. ;)
