The days of near heart attacks when £1000 steam locos come careering down Maenporth Incline are long gone! A new section, with a much more mundane gradient has replaced it!



I was talking to Si King after realising I had to do something about my gradient before my open day on Sunday earlier this week, and he suggested I do something like this.

So that's what I did...













A bit wobbly, but it's narrow gauge!!











Test train!



Successful!



Pub now sat on slabs.



I like that veiw!

Still a little more to do, I may end up putting some sort of sides on the raised wooden sort of section, perhaps arches like a viaduct.

So, we'll see how it all goes on Sunday!

Fantastic, looks really good with the flyover. I always thought that hill was a bit OTT & knarly!

That is a very well thought out solution and should give some good photograpic opertunities

Well I didn't... I bought some off a guy who had bought an old granite quarry locally, for a tenner (that was about 1/2 a ton there).
