The first major NWAG steamup of the new running season was held at the Fairfield Railway. It was a lovely day with almost Spring like weather and there was the usual NWAG variety of locos, with some G scale oddballs thrown in as well because the FR is dual gauge. Here are some pics

Lady of the Lake is blown down after a first run that seemed to go on forever!

Cumberland runs by with the Windy Ridge Railroad's rather british new carriages, years of persistance on this G-scaler seem to be working...!

And this is the Windy Ridge Railroads new loco - and a Silver Lady is on order!

Forum members might like to know that the PTLR north is still clinging on by its fingernails, here its loco hauls a 7/8th's slate train

Unfortunatly, sometimes you cannot get away from the annoyances in life. Once again Bluebottle caused a hold up and SLRmidge wasn't even there!
There was a bit more silliness during the afternoon but I will post pics later on. Suffice to say the NWAG go to silly lengths for peoples birthdays at times...

I think I'm in love! What manufacturer are the Mannings- they certainly look better than the RH ones... DJB?

Also, what's happening in 8 months then? New toy I guess, but what is it? Enquiring (OK, nosy) minds need to know!

I'd say how much I like the pics...if I could see them.

So do I! I'm sure someone else will explain the relevance of Thomas' visit! Thomas was indeed there, with Annie, Clarabel and a couple of Troublesome Trucks!! If I get chance, I will post a few piccies myself of my birthday... I mean the Fairfield Railways steam up!!!

As bungle alluded to, it was his birthday (30, would you believe it!). He thought he was going to get a nice quet birthday at a steamup, but the NWAG wasn't having that. Plans were arranged by email the previous day to truly give Bungle a suprise.
Bungle was to be sent away for 10 minuites (the choice of sending him away to get some more milk was made in the morning at the suggestion of LMSjools) whilst his suprise was set up. This involved setting out a 30 wagon train, each one with a cake inside, to be hauled by the PTLR's garratt "Black Combe"

As you can see the garratt was suitably decorated!
Also whilst Bungle was out, the Fairfield Railway's new train was put out onto the line for its inaugral run. I think you might gather wht this was!

After some frantic setting up, when bungle appeared the garratt was just about ready to go and Thomas was set off. To make it even funnier, the Thomas the Tank engine theme blared out (both the proper one and the horrendous new one!), there was a TTTE Happy Birthday banner and Bungle was given some "choice" birthday cards!

I have a video taken when bungle appeared, which may appear on youtube for a short time

Another pic of Thomas, which caused much hilarity since when it goes along, its eyes move left and right! And the faster the loco goes the faster the eyes move! With its big wheels, Thomas can certainly shift as well, it was zooming past live steam locos on the inner track!

I've pre-ordered an Accucraft Lyn from Track Shack.

I had a hunch

Saw one running last Sunday with a vaguely accurate train- mixture of SR and L&B liveries but even so it looked- and went- a treat.

I need a camera.

Ive got one on order myself, unfortuatly someone recently had the same idea for a lining scheme that I did.
Buggerations.

Aye they were nice. Somebody (Si I think?) asked who built the meths fired ones. The answer is, I can't remember I'm afraid! Whoever it was however alledgedly sold the design onto Roundhouse.
One loco (Exe) was missing from that line up, but there is the chance to pose models of the entire L&B fleet together at some point
