ANLR Christmas steamup

Once again it is December, and the anniversary of the ANLR being completed as a contiuous run, so I held a steamup today in sunshine that rather contrasted to the opening day 2 years ago and last years steamup! Once again there was a good turnout of NWAG members and forum members as well. Here are some pics
PTLRcecil represented the Pine Tree Light Railway, and brought his Beeson-Beck oddity "Gussie". Here it is raising steam outside the shed at Afonglas
The new level crossing saw its first train today, here is a new purchase for an NWAG member, a Roundhouse Carrie named Corrie
It did have a good chuff though, it was fitted with a Summerlands chuffer however it didn't sound like it was being thrashed with a long train
SLRmidge brought Guillimot and his 1960's inspired Vale of Rheidol rake

The ANLR was once again pleased to host Alicia from the Moel-y-Guest Light Railway, and Paul didn't even do anything unnatural with the animals this time
The Fairfield Railway's new Atlantic also had a run
Uncle Keith also came to his first steamup as a fully paid up member of NWAG, and I got out Taliesin for him to drive, although Paul drove for a few laps to allow him to get used to the "ray gun" type transmitter that his Linda would probably be fitted with
Finally as dusk turned to dark Alicia hauled the last train of the day with working lights on the loco and in some coaches adding to the atmosphere
Unfortunatly the steamup couldn't go by without SLRmidge living up to his "Mad" nickname...
Within minuites of his 2 new locos taking to the tracks one of them had derailed!
It then happened again....
...and even worse Midge had committed the cardinal sin of running his train into an already occupied section!
Whilst backing up the skips started to pile up as well, but by this time we were laughing so much that nobody took a photo!
