WOW!!!
Today I captured a load of great freight movements.
The Woodrow makes most of its money carrying passengers across the Woodrow plains from the towns to the sea and its only ever dealed in local freight but since the rise in fuel prices and the high cost of sending lorries across the winding county its actually become quicker and cheaper to send goods via the Woodrow so there has been a rise in goods movement.

The stuff witnessed here though is mainly empty wagon movements for tomorrow.
After testing a certain secret something we see Vincent at the Woodrow Halt junction about to propel a wagon along the Woodrow tramway to collect another wagon that was ued in the construction of the tramway but hasnt been moved since completeion many months ago (its true!)




Vincent is perfect for thsi kind of work with its massive buffers to prevent buffer locke on these tight curves when propelling


Down the gradient into a section of the line that is rarley seen.


Arriving at the underdeveloped yard and coupling up to th wagon which has become naturalley weathered from being left outside so long


preparing to leave


the heavy slog back up produces a heavy cloud of steam from Vincent funnel

back around the tight curves...


and onto the mainline.


then propelled up to Woodrows main yard.




through the goods shed and upto the buffers of a deserted siding




on the way back out Vincent pauses in the goodsshed while the driver is called into the goods office.


it fills the shed with steam and smoke (oil burning in the smokebox)



The driver has been told to pickup a van from the far side of the yard and take it to the end of the tramline




and propel


the wheels grind as they hit the sharp curves

The railways really let some of its rolling stock go



Im surprised H&S hasnt been on the orn, some of thsi looks downright dangerous!



Meanwhile on the Woodrow Valley Railway (or the WVR)
Clay is being brought down from the hills

What pressure does your safety valve go? I allways run mine at a low presure (around 1-2 bar) and so have never seen it go off!

tut tut tut, a steam engine should never ever go in the goods shed, theresgoing to be big trouble.
