Steamup at the Lakeside and Manderlay Railway

Post by laalratty » Tue Nov 17, 2009 10:39 pm

Been a while since I posted pics from an NWAG steamup, and last Sunday LMSjools held a steamup on his LMS. You may have noticed the change of name to "Lakeside and Manderlay", this is because the LMS has changed scale to 1/12th to represent 15inch gauge. However this dosn't change much as we still bring 16mm scale locos to run at steamups, and LMSjools engines have only had bigger drivers added to reflect the scale change, and he's also kept a rake of 16mm scale stock
Anyway some pics...

A new purchase for Francis (owner of the often seen dark green Silver Lady)was a second hand Roundhouse Carrie, named somewhat strangely "Corrie"

Corrie nears Devils Curve with a short frieght

Corrie passes SLRmidge's Edrig "Curlew". The big house to the left is a recent 1/12th addition to the garden

Gwydion had its first run out for over 2 months (that is what uni does) but still ran nice and slowly

2 trains at Lakeside, the SLR south's Willi and a Roundhouse Billy, also recently purchased by Francis
Thanks to LMSjools for releaving me of having think about uni for a couple of hours and playing trains insted :D . Some clips from the day will appear on the next laalrattysbrother video project, a compolation from NWAG steamups this year, due out between mid December and 8th January when I return to uni after Christmas

To be honest I thought that the Willi looks more convincing with a 1/12th person on it then as a 1/19th engine, it look more in proportion despite the driver getting an eyeful of cinders
Also nice to see that the LMS's tea obsessive vicar has made it onto here
