Madness at the SLR (s) aka SillyBilly visits Morecambe again

Post by laalratty » Sat Sep 19, 2009 9:00 pm

With William having his annual holiday to relatives nearby, a steamup was organised at the SLR south to allow Gag Torton to see more than just North Wales. Here are some pics...

Image
PTLRcecil's single Fairlie heads away from Yealand.

Image
Bungle's Lawley Cumberland sits on the turntable at Arnside Castle

Unfortunatly, this steamup was bungled. Having 5 forum members under 30 was obviously going to cause trouble. It was SLR pedro I felt sorry for!!!

Image
Firstly the killer bunny came, having commandered another loco. This loco has already become a legend after derailing Paul's Lady Anne by clever use of the killer bunny.
The bunny was then involved in some special stunts, but I won't say what they were, for that would give the game away...

Image
Then Will got Isabelle out, and pulled all of the available Ffestiniog stock with it, the killer bunny appeared to get on well with Gag Torton.

Image
Then this happened. The cause is unknown but it's thought that the bunny turned on Gag, causing Gag to slam the brakes on to fast and cause the pile up.
After this pic things went totally mental involving various water bottles, cameras and crazy chases round the garden, however I'll let other people's pics and videos tell this maddness (and I didn't take any pics  )

Image
During the chaos, occasionally a train ran. Taliesin passes Silverdale Road station.

Image
Finally after peace had descended (and Will and Paul had left the steamup!) Cumberland passes with a short train.
Thanks very much to Pedro de Hooton of the SLR south for holding this steamup and allowing William and Paul to tag along, and I hope that we were not too much of a pain!

Great pics, looks like Gag enjoyed himself (except for getting bitten by that animal that would have met the bad end of my gun if it was here). All the pics of the SLR (S) I've seen, it always seems to be wet!

I don't think I have seen that railway on video before! What is your youtube name? A really fantastic railway well integrated with loads of interesting bits! I like the bridges and the feeling of a miniature landscape![/u]

'twas good fun, lovely line, thanks to SLRpedro for not telling us to leave and sorry for not haveing very good manners. Perhaps laalratty's garden would have been a better venue for such antics. I'm afraid my photos are limited, sadly, due to too much messing around.
