Garden Railway Forum

Well it truly is the most southern, it's right on the tip of the Lizard Peninsula. Today was rather humid and misty, and a bit wet at times... making a very atmospheric railway!
The lines detailing has improved a fair lot since I was last there last year, and its sure a great railway packed into a small garden!



The yard. If Charles' roof was closed it would have made a great shot!



The serpentine works.



A little Fowler diesel sits outside the goods shed (based on a shed at St. Mary's docks on the Scilly Isles  :P ).




A cabbed Wilma steams it's way into the yard.

An unusual combo. of a Charles and LGB W&LLR-ish coaches.

I'll second what Mr Bond wrote, a fantastically atmospheric railway. That first photo would probably have been worth sending to put as the 16mm association photo of the week without Charles cab roof

Brilliant looking line, I'd love to visit. Mind you, that's quite a treck even from Plymouth!

It just goes to show that it doesn't HAVE to be sunny to get some great photos. Thank you for sharing them with us!

I just spent 30mins photoshopping that first picture, to edit out the roof... but I saved it, and now it's disappeared into thin cyber air! I wonder if it would be acceptable as it is...?

It's a lovely photo and I think is better as is! It shows that garden railways have the great advantage of not having to have fiddle yards- they can still be very well detailed and function as a preparing area!

I thought it was Tim Gregson who decided what the photo of the week would be?

Maybe this for the DVD too? (obviously with the railway's owner's consent).

Lovely jubbly! I like a good 'ride' along the line! It really gives one a fell of what the railway really looks like from a passenger point of view!

I was thinking of SMT rather than the Web Site - it'd make a good back page picture!
