Engineering sample that will be on show at the W&L weekend. There are a few minor painting issues to correct for the production model (including the buffer beam in proper "Bufer Beam Red"). For those that see the prototype please be aware that internally some work is going to be done on the cab layout to ensure ease of operation.
Interestingley this loco will have an 80psi boiler pressure. Should be out in 2010...

Tis 15mm scale, Zach. So that on 45mm track it is true 3ft gauge (I think that's right, can someone confirm?)

1mm??? making it 15mm=1foot does it matter??? the only problem for me is having a loco i want but can't (without significant engineering works) run on my 32mm track....have to build my own

Its a nicley detailed model and i like the lining on the pony truck, is it just me or is there something that doesnt look quite right

It is a shame it is so detailed, it pushes the price up and also if it were like a round hose loco I could have fun making it individual but thats just my view on things

I agree, I don't think the tanks are big enough, and they are possibly a bit too high. That looks more like one of the earlier engines. Mannin had the largest water tanks of the lot

It's all wrong, but very pretty... hopefully they'll get it sorted, it's not Mannin as is.

Aye - if anything she's more akin to Hutchinson during the '80s and '90s. Having dug out a prototype photo, I'd say:
1. The chimney is definately too tall.
2. The dome is possibly too tall.
3. The boiler needs to be just slightly bigger and the tanks just slightly taller.
4. The rain strips on the cab roof need to be much smaller.
Not a lot to be changed, then...!

We were talking on mondya night at my local club, that they have chosen the wrong loco, as you cant change it, mannin has different specs to all the others.

I think Mannin was chosen as the larger boiler and cylinders would make it more viable as a live steam model.
