The Opening of the MHLR Extension

Well, I had to have an official opening - I hadn't run any passenger coaches on it!
My friend Sam came over with 2 MSSs and the Simplex I built for him, and we had a rather fun Saturday running trains in the sunshine...
Logs being loaded onto my traction engine by Sam's.
Lucy making her way around the pond with a rake of skips.
Mawnan Jct. Signal Box.
Sam's MSS hauling my dad's gaurds van up the 1 in 50.
Ben~Ben simmering at Mawnan Junction.
Finally, the golden bolts are put in place :lol: :lol:
The PW train pulls into platform 3 to allow the passenger service out.
Then the first passenger train crosses onto the new section.
The STT arrive at Mawnan Jct.
STT 'Golly-Gosh' after being unloaded onto MHLR rails in Budock Yard.
Ben~Ben arrives at Helford Halt.
Then later, Columba is heading the same train.

I have a feeling I've seen a very similar video to that, he MLR golden fishplate ceremony! you robbed my idea
Nah its ok, good video. Nice to see trains running on the new section. and i like the breaking the banner scene!

That's a CRACKING location for a garden railway, with the views over the river. I assume you're near Falmouth - do you get any problems with gales off the sea, or are you fairly sheltered where you are?

Yes, I am indeed. Gales off the sea, well, the railway is fairly sheltered where it is, as theres a load of pine trees (which we want to cut down - get a veiw of the sea itself then!) that stop the wind coming from an easterly direction, but its fairly substantial so had no problems so far.

ha ha! the whole MHLR crew in 16mm scale! They cost about 15 pounds don't they??
