Roundhouse mk1 Taliesin charging questions.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a little help please. I've got a mk1 Taliesen & when I got it she had no instructions or charger. As this version has batteries in the tanks I wonder if anyone can tell me what miliamps to charge it at? I'm guessing it's 15 hours charge time?
Cheers

Have you any details on the battery pack voltage. Are they NiMh cells, do you know?

Doesn't indicate a current for charging, what choices does your charger give you?

Re: Roundhouse mk1 Taliesin charging questions.
I have a MKI Taliesin.
There are four AA cells in the tank.
I use a smart charger (Axtronics) 2-12 cells.
Takes about 3hrs to charge.

Re: Roundhouse mk1 Taliesin charging questions.
If they are NiCd or Nimh and you want to overnight charge them, then just set the charger on to its lowest mA setting. The more important factors are to ensure that the polarity and voltage are correct. The only time you have to be careful with mA settings is if you want to fast charge.
A 'normal' 4 cell rechargeable battery pack will be 4.8v.
Polarity may be harder to tell (if it has a DC barrel connector). 2 of the biggest RC system manufacturers (Spektrum and Futaba) have different polarity chargers; one has the centre pin of the barrel connector positive, the other negative. If it has a BEC connector (like the one posted in the link in the photo) then the plug can only go in one way and that problem goes away.

Re: Roundhouse mk1 Taliesin charging questions.
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm going to give it a go today because I steamed the loco last night & the battery died so it needs a good charge.
Tony I will go with what the strikealite battery says. I thought it would be something like that.
Cheers

Tony,
I gave the loco a 15 hour charge at 80ma, runs a treat. Thanks for the help.
