It is 4.53 and I have just spent the last day (apart from an hour watching a castle go by at Hest Bank) preparing for my annual evening steamup which will begin at 5.30. Having got a few minuites at the computer before things kick off here are a couple of pics of the ANLR in pre steamup mode


Gwydion, Urien and Taliesin ready for an evenings work


Afonglas station with all buildings set out, with the Baguley ready for any duties that may come its way, along with a rake of coaches. Another rake is under the house.
Hopefully in a few hours I will be posting some nice pics of what i'm hoping will be another cracking NWAG steamup

I'll look forward to seeing them: I was talking this afternoon at our New Members' Meeting and I said I was thinking of having an evening meet in October, so people could see the line lit up - something which normally I only see.

People thought it was a good idea..............

oooooh evening steam up sounds fun! Look forward to some pics, maybe someone will do a video?

Well the steamup is now over, and a reet good do it was too, although we finished before it got dark. I will post pics tommorow but I have an announcement to make

Matt has finally steamed his Lawley!!!

His move back over to the west side of the country meant he could attend, and he brought his unsteamed Lawley. We soon sorted out the "unsteamed" bit, indeed it steamed 4 times, 3 times on its own and once in a great double header with PTLRcecil's Caradoc.

Great news, finally Matt's done the deed.

I won't mention the fact that at 5:30 I was driving a 5in steam loco .

................. and at 0530 today, I was BACK from the airport, having taken grown-up sons there to go on holiday!

Poor you, I was only halfway through sleeping then .

You should av made em take the train ! lol

Its funny, cos i've watched the vid cecil is taking in the last pic not half an hour ago!

I watched the vid that I was taking 12 1/2 hrs ago.

although im not very good at driving steam locos (5inch ones, 16mm is a doddle ) quite yet
