A great day was had today on the FFR with lots of sun, food (thanks Mary) & of course steam hauled trains  :D

I took Talisein, whch didn't get blown off the line this time The coaches also mostly behaved themselves, including number 4, the now returned to service Ashbury that was wrecked from the Jubilee bridge incident

PTLRcecil's Superior King Arthur put in another good (loud!) performance on the hills

The steaming bay was full for most of the day

The PTLR also brought all 5 of their heavy Isle of Man coaches which meant there were plenty of double headers as no loco could take all 5 on their own. Here is Jool's Lady Anne David William paired with King Arthur

Then came the blue pair of resident Kaite "Hartside" and David William

A pair of Argylls came later

And before them was this interesting pair. The front loco is a JB models King Arthur, basically a lenghthened 0-6-2 Lady Anne, with a Beyer Peacock style body. Quite rare, they were not in production for long. It ran with the Superior, making a pair of King Arthurs.
Finally, I'm sorry to report that a robbery took place during the steamup

Luckily the suspect was photographed...

As he made off with the Aster King!!!!

Do you NWAGers have a steamup every weekend? Tempts me to ask to move back up north

not quite, but at the moment it's almost every weekend, it's mine next week, then a gap, then 2 more in July and another 2 in August. There are then some that are organised at short notice, such as one at the Fairfield Railway this evening (should be just about finishing now... ). For a small informal group I would like to think we are rather organised.

Actually, when the PTLR crew left at 10:30pm, there were still fresh locos being steamed up! The King George V had not long finished running! And it ran B-E-A-UTIFULLY!!! Probably be pics n vids to follow shortly!

Great pics guys from, the FFR (shouldnt the title of this thread be "Forest Field Railaway"?). Wish I'd been there! Are RiverEsk or Ratty producing a vid?

I love the stretched Lady Anne, it reminds me of the West Clare locos.
