Some asked when I did my intro to see more of my Locos. In the main they are battery powered...I'm just going into steam. One or two are undergoing Emettfacation with new funnels/chimneys being fitted...so excuse the lack of paint

Thanks for the comments.....something diffrent. As nice as Edrigs etc turned out with wonderful stock are...if you can't afford it then be diffrent...its all part of the fun and the joy of this hobby.
as nice as Edrigs, Lady anne etc are..it is in my mind a little boring if thats all you see....though one day me and a wad of cash will head off to Roundhouse

Some of those I have not seen before! Look very whimsical! I'm not sure on the barbie pink house though, I think you need to get your Humbrol out on that! I think RH and Accucraft etc with prototypical stock are great for people like me who find it hard to have an "imagination" (hence why all my GCSE art sketchbook looks like graphic design with a poster of 'Tornado' for my final piece!) so we can run prototypical trains on our own railway, but its definately nice to see some imaginative ideas! And there is a prototype for everything!

Thanks for the comments...actually Peter Jones did see some photos a month or so before he passed away and re the mineral tram (for which he was too buliding a section of the the Camborne/Redruth line) he said 'at last'..meaning someone had built such a beast...or was it that i had built something recognisable at last.....either way kind words from a kind man.

as for the barbie Pink house......commandos from Tolgus Coombe mine will be sneeking into your garden young Peter and cementing it there if you make any more comments....that will give your Dad something to think about.....give me  time.......actually i have been lazy and not painted it. Most buildings are refuges from car boots..washed and then given a halfords primer then painted with masonry paint (usually from tester pots)...the buildings last a good few years..some 6 so far!

Seen all of Johns things (ha!) on 'The Thing'. In Peter Jones' book 'Building Small Steam Locomotives', theres a design for one of his for a sort of crane come loco type thing.

I do have to admit I have 2 'normal' mamod Locos in states of rebuild
One.. trying to sort out the meths burner first...the other is a total rebuild as funds come available....this second one may turn out whimsical to hide the poor engineering of yours truly

As I seem to be permanently skint, most of my locos have been built on a budget!

Not sure how much this one cost - I think the engine was 15 quid off ebay, without burner, the mamod flat wagon and meccano were just things I had lying around, the only other purchase being a drive band! Mind you it needs a proper burner - it is temporarily running on solid fuel tablets shoved in the firebox, and it is a bit stinky! It will get a tram type body, again from left over bits, so overal cost of loco still minimal!

Titan...excellant...write it up for garden rail etc....i hope the link I gave earlier for the site in the states is a help...Also go on to 16mm ngm site and go through links for members garden railways and look for John Rogers small railway....he has built a famous loco in a similar way...email him he is very helpful
