Also nice to see an Archangel loco - did the safety valve "fart" as they often do??

erm *cough* yes it was a bit

There are actually 3 Archangels in the pics, though the Marmaduke wouldn't steam because of the erm *cough* wind
As for the safety valve noise, I think the Jack and the New Mill didn't do the full blowing rasbarry. I'm sure cecil will know what the safety valve habits of these are

I think Newmill wasnt quite as 'windy' as some Archangels i've seen!

And to correct ratty, Marmaduke did run! It ran the first official train at 11am (although the first train was actually Austin Rea's Leslie Kay at 10am) and the last train, which finally pulled on shed at 10pm.
