The 'usual' local suspects went round to LMSJools today for a spot of kettle steaming. Its funny but there did seem to be more 'mishaps' than usual  Anyway the highlight for me was a lovely Roundhouse Russell and we all got a go at running her :D

Now that's a very nice Russell. Looks to me like FR maroon rather than the standard maroon of mine...I like it. Would benefit from a saftey valve cover though, and I doubt it will stay that clean for long :P

Darn it midge, I was going to post my pic of the Russel looking like it was in the Aberglaslyn pass. Oh well, I will get my revenge shortly :laughing3:
Here are my other pics

Now then revenge...
Any of you that read Garden rail will know that SLRmidge has recently had an article published about steamups, and particualy some basic rules which you should follow for these events.
However for midge it is "do as I say not as I do" for one of his rules. Always check the gauge the caption said. I wish I had got on video the moment when SLRmidge put down his steamed up loco Kittiwake the Wrekin onto the track, only for his face to turn to horror when it wouldn't sit on the rails!
Yep, he had brought a loco set to 45mm gauge to a 32mm steamup!

And here is SLRmidge trying to undo his mistake and regauge his engine
Anyway, thanks very much to LMSjools for a great running session
