Roundhouse Russell

Post by Big Jim » Wed Aug 10, 2016 9:27 pm

Just making tentative enquiries about a possible addition to the fleet. What are peoples opinion of the older version of Russell. Now I know that there have been comments about it not quite spot on size wise, this doesn't bother me. I know they didn't come with a water glass but can one be fitted without serious surgery? Can they be fitted with a water top up valve?
Finally who makes the nice safety valve bonnet for them?

Cheers

I've got a Russell from one of the first batches and I like it a lot. A water gauge cannot be fitted without serious boiler surgery or a new one all together. A top up valve is an easy fit though simply replacing the filler plug under the dome. The dome comes from Roundhouse, as fitted to the Lady Anne.
