Lego hopper wagon as a temporary solution?

I own a humungous amount of Lego and it struck me today that the hopper wagon I built for my now defunct Lego train layout would work out just fine for use on the mining tramway until I can do something about building something permanent.

Please forgive the rotten cell phone pictures. Maybe if I drop some hints around I'll get a new camera for my birthday ;)

On my Lego layout I had a railway crane that I used to lift the hopper body away from the wagon chassis for unloading.

Lego train wheel assembles look like this and I have every intention of using them on the mining tramway even if they might be hiding under a proper scratchbuilt wagon or coach body.

Actually, Annie, a cellphone often works better than a proper camera for models shot at close range - better 'depth of field' ie sharpness near and far.

Nice to have a proper camera for full size activity of course. David

I'm not sure what went wrong with those photos David as I've taken some very good pictures in the past with this particular cell phone. More than likely a big smearing thumb print on the camera lens or something.

Nothing a bit of lick and a clean hanky won't fix :-) D
