Has it really been three years since the start of all this?! I'm ashamed at my progress, but today...
TA-DA!
I sold my I.P. Jane yesterday because, as I'm sure we all know, we can have too many projects to cope with. This made me resolve and get started on finishing off one loco. Still a few small jobs to do, but nearly there ready for an Improved Engine Green paint job and lining
'Victor' is effectively the shed pet of the Peaslake & Grayswood Light Railway so will be hauling the summer special train 'The Surrey Slogger'.
Still a gas tank and steam pipe to shoe-horn in. It's going to be one cluttered cab...
A little profiling job so the cab sheet and mazak buffer beam 'conform to profile'.
So, what has been added:
Alan Briggs buffer beams, weatherboard, headboard and coupling rods.
AnDel buffers.
Dream Steam tanks, wheels, 'gas flow' cylinders, dummy tank fillers, uprated boiler with pressure gauge and gas burner.
Roundhouse lubricator, dummy whistle and sandpots.
DJB smokebox door dart.
To put things into context, the only original parts are the frames and smokebox casting! Practically everything else has been replaced.

Another little mod today. I've never liked the supplied regulators with the uprated boilers because, overtime, the handle can work loose from the body. Plus they are too 'dainty' for my tastes.
So I liberated my Ragleth of its regulator handle, turned up a sleeve at work out of some aluminium and then fitted it to the regulator shaft. Much better...
A Summerlands Chuffer is also on its way for the loco.

Very nice! I've just ordered a pressure gauge for britomart, and seeing where the pipe goes on yours I have a feeling there's going to be some re-arrangement in the cab!

Another mod, the Summerlands Chuffer was fitted in under 5 minutes. Two bends in the exhaust, chuffer slotted in and aligned. Job done!

It doesn't look like a mamod any more! I'm not keen on the colour myself but its unique! good luck keeping it clean!

The safety valve or the top up valve can be accomodated within it.
I moved the top up valve into the cab, as previous experience showed that the top up hose melted over at the end! Plus to get at the top up valve, you had to remove the very hot dome which would then be dropped when the heat got too much to handle.
The dome just drops over the safety valve, but you would need to make up a large penny washer for it to locate over the top up valve.
