Today, installed the point leading onto the section...



And built 1/2 of the raised section.



This will then go over a hinged bridge across the grass 'path', then into the flower bed, and go across the path, over some points onto the pond loop.

Can I ask how you are securing the posts in the ground as it all seems to be going in rather quickly!

I have a hole digging tool thingy, to make a round hole in the ground, slot the post in, then pour some cement in.

Yes it is, this method of construction is fast, especially now I can spend all day on it. Today, I put some roofing felt on the tops, and layed the steam up area track, and part way down the main section. I also edged the tops with some spare alu. strips in grey I have around from when my parents were doing up the house.

Completed!!! (practically, just need to add a halt, buildings etc and finish laying a siding by the pond)


Went t' garden centre and bought this solar pump to jazz up the gungy green old pond, but also bought 10 goldfish for the new pond, plus some pond plants.


The steam up bay, and the main straight (ish, it curves with the wall a bit!).

Pendennis is the first train to ride over the new rails, and it was perfect - no derailments whatso ever, only on the old part of the railway where a point was jammed with a stone...

It is Peco Set Track!!!


The line turns 90degrees over the bridge, and heads up towards the pond...






Where it crosses the path, onto the pond loop.


Seen before, except this time, its a lesser gradient, fixed by lifting the sleepers up, and recementing the foundations! Its still steep, but I can live with it...


Then heading over the top of the steps!


And Pendennis Castle heading down towards Maenporth again. (Maenpoth halt also serve a public gardens place [botanical?]!! )

Fantastic! Looks like a great new bit of line and amazingly quick to, although you do have alot of time to do it in being off school now an' all! (grrrr)

That's why... I have all day now to play with trains!!! It's great! My dad also helped (as it was his idea after all), so we managed to get it all up and running ASAP! Penty of time left now for details etc before the big day!

Brilliant Pete, I presume that there will eventually be more sidings at the run round loop? The re-graded section also looks much better.

No.

Yes, VERY bad quality because my camera is broken (new one coming soon), so I had to use the camera on my phone... Columba having a run along the new section, runs a dream! It gets a tad hairy when she runs away down the steep section, but if you get the speed right, it will make it down still on its wheels! The tight SET TRACK  :twisted:  corner before the new lift up bridge stops her, but soon sets off again on her own.
