Well, Penrhyn is what Second Chance is going to end up in- ie target practice for my lining pen. If I pull it off, I might remove Swordbreaker's trimline and do that....

GOOD NEWS! Shogi is just back from having his stitches removed, and the vet is really pleased with his recovery!

BAD NEWS! I've just not warmed to the steam dome on the Kerr Stuart - it offends my eye every time I look at it.

GOOD NEWS! The steam dome is gone, the filler moved to the centre of the tank and the old fixing hole filled & sanded!

(The smokebox is now matte black too!

Looks very good - there are alot of battery locos with nice bodies on those chassis - are there any other chassises with a smaller wheelbase though?

Because they're more "Scratchbuilding Aids" than full blown kits, you can fit just about any chassis under them - just accomodate the chassis / motor block of choice during the build, and the world is your mollusc!

The end is nigh!

Fit the roof, a whistle, cab steps, coal loads, name & no. plates.
Paint the 'beams & buffers, running boards.
VERY basic lining.
Wire up.

Now, does anyone want to buy a Bachmann Lyn, before I have to convert it to another steam outline battery electric loco that I said I wasn't going to have anymore of????????:roll:

AnyHoo, here's the latest in this (all together now) - "Blog The Build-Up. Can We Bodge It?, Yes We Can"

Thanks very much for the encouraging comments to date, and here's the latest photo (still not getting the "right" livery showing!

- colour-shift the 'beams & fire buckets to red and you'll get the idea)

The running boards, buffer beams & buffers are now done and the cab roof & whistle are fitted
