Just about done now once I've made up a shunters pole

and the rake of skips are painted (been in primer for years!) and weathered to match.

Dead simple - red oxide spray primer undercoat, waft over of the actual colour (in this case a light green) from a satin finish rattle can (leaving some primer showing in places), then artists acrylic (the gooey stuff in tubes - Daler Rowney "Heavy Body Acrylic") raw umber stippled on where heavy rusting would occur on the prototype, followed by a black acrylic wash. Finally, subtle details picked out with artists soft pastels, sealed with a coat of spray varnish

(It actually takes about as long to type as it does to apply!)
