Brilliant.

The maroon suits her better than the green

Cheers Matt, second time lucky ;)
I'm also really pleased with the "lift" that the clazing gives it over the basic model! :D

Was that aimed at me?? ;)

Looks good, even that colour can't spoil it. What you planning to add to it then??

Don't think it was intentionally aimed at you Shane ~ 'tweren't GWR green 8)

It's desperate for either a horn or hatch on the roof (to cover the hole left by a flashing yellow LED.)
I'm knocking up a cab panel (which will also hold the speed controller I'm gonna fit), and then I'm just going to hang a bit more "clutter" on it before a bit of weathering ;)

Did you record a sound sample onto those chips?

Yep! Trawled around on various sound libraries and such for both clips.
(I actually found a really nice Class 37 sound clip I was tempted to use!! 8) )

I would have chosen the 37 clip!

So you could produce one with the sound of an old tractor with an "ooogah" horn?

As long as the sound clip fits within a 10 second "loop time", anything. (for the main unit the clip duration can be lengthened at the cost of quality!)

At the moment, the ISD1820 is sending an End Of Message at the end of each cycle causing a tiny glitch during loop playback, but I hope I can sort that out.

Like the idea of an 80-class sound unit for my under-construction DMU... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlRsuc6zhSg

The P.Way gang have been busy as the W&LLR continues to attempt to get a quart into a (Half) pint glass!

Leaving Westwood Station, the line now makes it's way through "The Alley" but now curves to the right.
Planting and/or rock (or building?) will block the view of the loop from Riddings in the distance.

Image

The other end of "Mill Curve" (don't worry, I'll think of a more appropriate name once the scenic work gets established!).
Once the scenic block is in place, the converging line from Riddings shouldn't be seen / noticeable.

Image

The Crossing - criteria; easy access for track clearing but hidden from most angles, looking from the site of the "new" Codnor Station it should give the impression of a junction.

Image

The line then curves in to Codnor Wood. This was a "must keep" for the new formation, following the old trackbed through one of the most scenic sections of the line.
Plenty of scope for new planting! ;)

Image

Leaving Codnor Wood, the old "R3" curves have been eased (R5), the tighter sleeper spacing will be lost under the Rowlands Mix!

Image

Riddings Tunnel was another "no brainer" to keep and the line now leaves and curves past the halt. A new curved platform needs to go in here.

Image

A few kinks but they'll be straightened before the ballast goes in - the new Codnor Station will be on the straight section with either a loop or new siding.
The old station building (a "Koala Brothers" toy house) will move to The Works Branch and be replaced with a new building.

Image

Image

Meanwhile, here's a last look at the soon-to-be-replaced Brinsley Lodge loco shed (Santa is bringing a Model Town one! :D ) before it's taken down and installed on "The Works Branch" to house the Simplex.

Image

Unaffected by all the changes, Loscoe Station sits in a sea of tranquility - though there is a new lineside fence.  :D

Cor, you've been busy! So where does that line go from the diamond crossing head off to/come from, is it just the mainline thats turned back on itself?

Cheers James ~ I actually had over an hour longer than I'd planned, since the missus went for a nap and locked me out in the garden!

Yep, it's the "main line" crossing over itself in a figure of 8. The works branch is in the vicinity though, so it should give the appearance of a subsiduary crossing the main ;)

I've been meaning to remove some tight curves, extend the run, and introduce some more "photogenic" points on the line and with the limited space I have this seemed the best option.
I managed to get some R5 curves and a crossover at great prices after the green light for the project from the household authority (currently known as "Sleepy")

Looking good fella, but I think we need a track map! Hope you have booked all the crews a nice 10 hour restday worked for road learning the new alignment! ;)
