Thanks to the last couple of sunny days and added enthusiasm from the attending the show Saturday managed to finish laying the track this afternoon for stage 1 and could not resist having my first steam!!

Glad to report that the track works well with no derailments or any concerns, other than remembering to slow down around the curves as that are 38" radii!! No chance for a video and off to Barcelona for a few days sightseeing over the weekend so will post first video next week. Now need to crack on with stage 2 the shunting yard and then get the wife out landscaping!!

Thanks Danny, looks a little different from when I purchased her from you last year!! Looking forward to Criccieth Castle - watched a number of them at the show Saturday - can't wait!! As you can see above first stage of track is finished - you need to come visit!!

No chance yet of a video - but some photos of the finished track and the method of attaching to the blocks.

Single point in the middle of the back straight ready for stage 2 - the shunting yard - next few weeks

Method shown to me by Geoff at Lightlines - aluminium strip 60mm, drilled and countersunk, sprayed brown, stainless screw and brown plastic cap!! The accuracy of the holes is not important which was my problem when I was trying to screw through the sleeper. It also allows you to adjust the track before screwing down tight.

New loco shed has arrived to be kitted out for rolling stock etc and proud of my new sign!!

Next stage is to start thinking about ballasting - have had lots of advice and ideas and will do some trials and share them over the next few weeks as well as construction of the shunting yard.

That's looking very smart indeed. Nice to see nice straight straights and carefully set out regular curves. Please keep us updated, I look forward to seeing the shunting yard.

Nice loco (though I recommend painting the wheels black!), interesting to see that it has Roundhouse builders plates, are they now fitted to the Criccieth Castles as standard?

These are the mini "Roundhouse" plates - Geoff had some so he fitted them for me - you do get plates and name plate - not seen them yet, Geoff forgot to pack them - but the train is being renamed after local Castle - waiting for the name plates from Narrow Planet

Hi everyone, managed to get stage 2 (final stage at the moment) of blockwork laid today.

This shows the overall additional track bed

The first area will be where the station complex will be - main station buildings at the back and additional platform in between the two rails

This area is for two sidings both with return loops so we can bring rolling stock in, park and then bring the diesel back out. If the weather holds in the next few days should have the finished line laid by Thursday evening!! The siding passing loops are almost 2.5 meters long, the perspective of the photos tends to shorten the view
