Well, seeing that it's been raining for the pas few days, all of the rolling stock has recieved it's 2nd coat of paint and also Britomart is soon to be completely stripped back, primed and re-painted in Dark Blue
I have also finished lining out Phoenix, and well, in short, i've cocked it up!
sooooooooooooo I have Plan B instead! which if i have enough time, will go ahead soon, and it will be kept highly top secret!

Now if you thought that Phoenix was finished, done and dusted, think again!
These are the grisily remains of her currently, as Plan B commences! The running plate has also been tested, and gets a pass from the engineer, so nothing better fail on her trip to the FR!
Otherwise he has a lot to blame for!

Right, an update on Phoenix:
Everything has now pretty much been sprayed as well as i can get it (and to my satisfaction), and the bits are going to go in the over tomorrow sometime (100 degrees for 30 mins), and then, hopefully tomorrow, i may be able to have a celebratory Birthday steamup! and with the rolling stock all done and dusted (that i'm taking to the Ffesty)!

Well, I think at this rate the steam-up is out the window, as i sort of forgot to take into account about the Welsh weather! but nether the less, i'll have a little photo shoot when Phoenix is all done! as it is also a year old today! it had it's boiler tested on my birthday! which is a nice twist!

Well, it's only a day late, but she's finally ready for unveiling! and just in time as well!
The D&FGR rolled her out in the evening sunlight after re-assembling her, and here is the moment of truth.......
Lined up with the carridges that are coming to the FR
I didn't manage to have a celebratory steamup for my birthday, and for Phoenix now being a year old, but I am steaming her on blocks after dinner!
And i need to tidy up the paintwork thats on the brass hole things on the cab!

Well i managed to run her on blocks, and as always, she was a smooth as ever! unfortunatly i didn't manage to re-set the SV so it's still going off at 50!
the coal load reattached!
I'm now not going to be very active for the next 3 weeks, as i'm going to be on the Ffestiniog doing all sorts! So if i don't come on for a while, thats why!

Well finally over the past 2 days i've been able to have a bit of time to relax before i go back to school and here are some progressions made on the locos:
Pheonix has had her nameplates attached, and very nice they are as well!
Britomart out in the sunlight as well
Pheonix trudles along to Fron Goch
Britomart's nameplates
Pheonix prepares to haul 1 operational and 1 dead mamod and also the finally completed rake of replica D&FGR waggons with one on trail
Blow down at the end of the day
H.G.Butler posed with the rake, a sight supposedly not seen for more than 20 years!
The next day i finally decide to try and get Britomart to work under her own steam with Pheonix to help, and here were the results
SV was going off within 3 mins!
Pheonix hauled Brit for most of the time to help with the running in of the uprated cylinders, but since the addition of the lubricator it ran a lot better!
I need to sort that out so it doesn't do that to that extent all over the loco!

In the evening sunlight, just before she moved under her own steam for 5 months! and ran beautifully for a mamod! she didn't have that much power but still managed to make several full trips of the line with steep gradients on!

I'm now pleased that she runs under her own steam (finally!)
