Im enjoying building it and Mike and my dad had a smile on their faces the other week, Im sure in years to come there will be things I want to change or will feel I should have done different. Its all a learning curve.
Matt, it would be rude of me not to allow to supply some buildings after the eforts hes put in so far. Its got a long way to go till its upto yours, Gregs and Shanes standards though.
Rich, yes you can buy different rollers for it so it will do a selection of track types deppending on what you buy. I will put some pictures up of the bender later.
Keith, its been there for a year that we know of, though the one on the other side is looking a little shabby.

what Steve forgot to mention is that the very first item the new business cast now belongs to him. Although not a building its still a very useful item. The buffer stop we gave him goes with the point and length of track we have also given him. So if nothing else I'll have somewhere to store my loco when we visit. Lol ! Its looking good though steve. Cant wait for our next visit to get some more built. Keep it up mate.

Well as Mike says there was another big push over the weekend, The Lowes joined us with my dad, Cath, Russell and Gareth to try to move things along with the line.
First a picture of the bit I carried on with of the last couple of weeks:
The rail-bender from GRS:
Now I forgot to take a picture at the start of play on Saturday but most of the turf had been removed and so work started. By the end of Saturday the bottom section had been started, fence panels to give support to the wall that will form the track bed and have a rockery against it leading to the lower line:
The gap in the middle of the raised bit will be a walkway when the railway is not in use but will also allow the low level line to pass under the raised level to the low level terminus:
The section of line down the side of the path had the track bed finished, some back filling carried out and some of the plants Mike brought along planted. Its starting to take shape now:
By tea time (don’t mention the BBQ) there had been enough progress for the line to have its first visiting loco's in steam. Mikes Lady Anne "Alice Nutter" and Gareth’s brand new L&M having its first steaming:
Today there was only Gareth and me to plod on. The temperature being so high and the need to peg out the curve and the gradient meant that progress was abit slower today but we got the low level line to within 5 blocks of meeting the existing track bed:
Finally after abit of thought and plenty of ideas from everyone on Saturday night the railway has a name. West Sentinel Mining Railway or WSMR for short, for those who know which company I used to work for it will make sense.
Once again a massive thank you to those involved, especially Ffi for bearing with it all without really understanding the vision that’s mainly in my head.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, I’ve been lucky that we've been able to get a good group around to give things a big shove. I really doe appreciate the help from those involved.
Mike, I think the saw is dead now, must go out and get a replacement FOR WOOD ONLY!

Well Monday was a family day but I got to plod-on on Tuesday morning before making a guest appearance in work. The final bits of the low level track bed being put in place:
Today was another rest so beside taking Evan to see the Olympic torch (think he was more impressed by the blue flashing lights on the police bike's) I got to lay track on the on the new bits of track bed:
As you can see there’s a slightly dubious bridge across the path on the left hand side made out of one of the pallets that the blocks had been delivered on, just temporary until I order the recycled plastic boards. I’ve also fitted the blocks for the walkway in the gap at the bottom and the point put in to take the line around.
Next to do is getting boards to make the bridges and to take the line over the patio to give a full loop and the scenery to tidy up what is already there.
Rich as it stands I’ve got 23 yards end to end and a total of 34 yards laid I think there’s about another 6 yards of track bed down.
Oh does anyone know how I change the title of this thread?

Thanks for the comments guys, I was told I had a grin like a school boy last weekend when Mike and Gareth had there locos running, so must be enjoying it.
Shane, dont mention the BBQ thats the old one the previuos owners had and Ffi refuses to let me use it, so we got 3 disposable ones, must have had 30 seconds of heat in total.....
Mike, new wood saw purchased (and a cheap one for cutting blocks too. Think the next working day will be after we are back from holiday now.....
