Was planning on fitting the ACME units to my diesel fleet. Will certainly being doing it now (when funds allow of course)

If you were wondering where the "flurry of activity" came from, I have actually been keeping my mind off the fact that Charlie my little buddy, has been very ill recently and today was the day he had to go to the vets to be put to sleep

Gutted! and the place seems empty without him and I'll miss him when we're touring.

R.I.P Charlie, my co-pilot.

Back "on topic", I have another soundcard, available on eBay which I'm gonna fit to "BOSCOMBE". I'll then post a demo vid (which will illustrate why you shouldn't in my opinion buy one of these)

Really gutted for you mate, same thing happened to us about 3 months ago when one of our fluffy friends lost her battle. She was 12 years old. Worst thing about having pets isn't it, but at least I'm sure you can look at all the good times. RIP Charlie.

Actually my old depots yard cat died as well a few weeks ago, she was class but sadly drank some serk oil that was leaking from an LM class 170 & had a massive heart attack somehow, still not quite sure how that works but hey.

There is one thing I hate about leccy sound in an outline steamer and that's the fact that the noises arn't quartered to the wheels, to me they sound more like steam pumps constantly running,

The deiseil loco sounds are far more convincing.

Sorry to hear about Charlie, Kev. A little while ago we lost a cat which we had ever since I was born, so she lived to a grand old age of 16. I took it pretty hard, so I know what you're going through. Hang in there, mate.

Just need to get the speed of the sound card the same as the loco, that's all.

Actually I am the UK agent for Mylocosound whose range I sell in addition to my own. Their range includes steam sound cards which rely on cams fitted to the axles to synchronise the chuffs with the wheels.

If you look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU9XmG2B ... r_embedded you can see and hear a Mylocosound unit which is the non cam version, fitted to a double Fairlie I built for a customer. He likes the sound unit and wants me to build the FR Prince for him using the same system.

I have my own brand of steam sound card fitted to my IP Engineering steam tram.

I did suggest to the guys down Pentrich Sidings that maybe a snowplough would be a better project than restoring the old van to use for the Santa Specials mobile grotto - but would they listen??????????

The irony is that I'm stuck indoors waiting for delivery of a fridge-freezer!

Here we go then, first off the new look Westwood with Modeltown terraced houses and pub, coal staithes in the yard along with a Jacksons Mini's Goods Office.

And here's a couple of views of work in progress at Loscoe, on the site of the old quarry.
